Food Bank Council of Michigan to support Michigan DNR's Hunters Feeding Michigan program

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Michigan Department of Natural Resources announced it has contracted with the Food Bank Council of Michigan to support the DNR's Hunters Feeding Michigan program, which connects donors, wild game processors, and charities to feed those in need.
DNR officials say the program allows hunters to share their harvest by donating deer at a participating processor, who helps distribute venison to people in need.
“It’s a privilege to work side by side with the Food Bank Council of Michigan to grow the Hunters Feeding Michigan program and to help channel venison donated by hunters to local food agencies throughout the state,” said Joe Presgrove, DNR Hunters Feeding Michigan program specialist. “Together we will help many Michiganders in need!”
Local hunters can drop off donations at Clear Water Meat at 5976 Old Pipestone Rd. in Eau Claire. You can find a full list of participating processors on the Michigan DNR website.
You can find local food distribution partners on the Feeding America West Michigan website.
