Folks took a step back in time in Mishawaka at the renaissance festival

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- On Saturday, some folks in Michiana took a trip back in time.

Last year was Michiana's first renaissance festival and it was such a success, they decided to have another one this year!

People dressed up and enjoyed everything from the middle ages.

This all happened at the Kamm Island Park in Mishawaka.

Guests got to transport back in time to the medieval era, the age of vikings, and even fairytale storyland.

Festival go-ers enjoyed the period demonstrations and live combat!

"I thought I'd come out and see what they had to offer the kids and have fun," Albert Giersberg said.

"I think they're really going for jousting and those type of battles. They really get into that," Giersberg  continued.

And if you missed out today don't worry!

The festival continues on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
