Five arrested in timber theft investigation

PULASKI COUNTY, Ind. – Five people were arrested as a result of a timber theft investigation in Pulaski County, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources announced.

Indiana Conservation Officers arrested the five after law enforcement noticed suspected stolen timber during a traffic stop on Tuesday.

Jeremiah Schwanke, 36, Larissa Schwanke, 29, and Jonathan Petty, 32, all of Wheatfield, and Richard Schwanke, 31 and Kristyn Hickman, 32, both of San Pierre, were taken into custody on Wednesday.

This is an ongoing investigation.
