Fighting Irish heading to Atlanta for National Championship
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame went head-to-head with Penn State at the 2025 Orange Bowl Championship winning 27-24 and now the Fighting Irish will advance to Atlanta to compete in the National Championship.
Notre Dame will face the winner of the Ohio State-Texas matchup on Jan. 20, at the Mercedes Benz Superdome.
In order to travel to the National Championship, you'll need a flight, hotel, and ticket to the game. Delta Airlines has flights going from South Bend to Atlanta starting at $1,000 but those flight prices are subject to change as gameday approaches.
A ticket to attend the championship game can range from as cheap as $1,500 and as expensive as $5,000, according to Stubhub.
Atlanta has a variety of hotel options for as cheap as $100 but this will come down to what fans are willing to pay and how close to the stadium they prefer to be.
The Texas Longhorns are the 5-seed this year, creating a record of 13-2 this season, losing twice to a team that Notre Dame beat just before their win over the Lions.
This is Notre Dame’s first time in over a decade to make it to the championship. If Texas manages to win the Cotton Bowl, it will be the first meet up against the Fighting Irish since 2016.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are sitting at an 8-seed and have a 12-2 record by losing by just 3 points in both games against Oregon and Michigan.
Experts predict that Ohio State will win the matchup against the Longhorns, but computer-generated data gives Texas a 1.7 percent chance to win the game.
Ohio will face Texas at the Cotton Bowl classic at 7:30 p.m. and then the winner of that game will face Notre Dame on Jan. 20, in Atlanta.
