ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Fire Department was called out to 139 Superior Blvd at approximately 4:00a.m Saturday morning due to reports of a fire in the back of the house. The Elkhart Fire department began putting out the fire from the back and making their way to the front and searching for any occupants.

One occupant was found and immediately removed from the house and taken to the hospital and was later pronounced deceased a short time later.

The Elkhart fire Department was able to successfully put out the fire and once an investigation was completed the EFD left the scene.
