Fatal fire under investigation in Benton Township

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich.—A 58-year-old man was found deceased after a structure fire in Benton Township on Tuesday morning.
On October 29, around 5:43 a.m., police were informed of a structure fire in the 900 block of Paw Paw Ave. in Benton Township.
Officers found the structure to be engulfed in flames and heavy smoke.
The fire department arrived and extinguished the fire.
During a search of the home, a 58-year-old man was found deceased inside.
The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation by the Michigan State Police Fire Marshall Division.
