Family of teen tased by police files tort claim

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The family of a teen tased by police has filed a lawsuit against the city of South Bend.

Deshawn Franklin said police went into his family's home and tased him. But the family told police they had the wrong guy.

The tort claim names the city, Mayor Pete Buttigieg and several members of the South Bend Police Department including interim Police Chief Chuck Hurley.

The family's attorney said they have tried to get a copy of the police report but their requests have been denied.
