Exotic animals found mistreated in Indiana

Several exotic animals, including tigers and a lion, were seized this week in Indiana.

The D.N.R. said the cats were being mistreated.

Officials said they got a complaint about the great cats and when they went to check it out, they were shocked by what they found.

Corporal Todd Pekny, with the D.N.R. Law Enforcement said , "The animals, you were starting to be able to see the ribs of the animals, the hip bones and the backbones of the animals. There was large amounts of feces in numerous cages, and it appears that they haven't been fed or taken care of in quite some time."

The facility was also cited for mistreatment in 2006 and 2007. Thursday, the animals are recovering at an exotic feline rescue center.
