Polar Plunge returns to Four Winds Field
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A special event is being held in Michiana this week in their honor.
American Legion Post 297 located in New Carlisle will be honoring veterans who served during the Vietnam War on Wednesday on April 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be a free meal provided to those who attend.
Quilts of Valor will be presenting four quilts to New Carlisle veterans at 1:30.
The Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans organization from Indianapolis will be presenting free pins and books and will photograph Indiana Vietnam-era veterans attending for a photo album.
The VA Health Administration will be present and offering services for qualified veterans.
They typically provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience transporting older veterans from the eras of World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam War to Washington, D.C.
The sponsors of the event are encouraging all veterans, regardless of when they served, to attend.
