Elkhart Police investigating shooting on Marion Street

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Police are investigating a shooting that happened Thursday morning in the 500 block of Marion Street.

Police were dispatched to a local hospital that had a patient with a gunshot wound. The victim had a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the abdomen, police said.

Shortly after they were notified of the patient, they were dispatched to the 500 block of Marion Street.

Officers located a shell casing at the scene.
