ELKHART, Ind. – The Elkhart Municipal Airport will be receiving millions in federal investment from the Federal Aviation Administration over the next few years.
The FAA has agreed to give the airport $5.9 million between 2020 and 2025.
The Elkhart Municipal Airport has already received $3 million to improve safety and navigation in recent years.
New funds will go towards the final phase of the airport’s improvements.
The replacement of the airport’s 40-year-old perimeter fence, runway, taxiway lighting, and pavement improvements will all be covered with the new investment.
