Elkhart man sentenced to 51 months in prison for firearm offense
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana announced 24-year-old Nathan Keosackdy of Elkhart was found guilty of being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm after a two-day trial in November 2023.
Keosackdy has been sentenced to 51 months in prison, followed by two years of supervised release.
Case documents state, in September 2022, Keosackdy, a felon prohibited from possessing or purchasing a firearm, took another person to a federally licensed firearm dealer to purchase a firearm he had chosen.
After the purchase, documents state Keosackdy carried the gun out of the store and paid the other person for the gun.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with assistance from the South Bend Police Department and Mishawaka Police Department.
