Elkhart man charged with Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material following investigation
Elkhart County Jail: Rene Rodriguez ELKHART, Ind. -- An Elkhart man is facing felony charges of Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material following an investigation by the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
The Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office has charged 59-year-old Rene Rodriguez with one count of Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material with Aggravating Factor, a Level 5 Felony, and two counts of Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material, each a Level 6 Felony.
The Elkhart Police Department reports a tip was received and reviewed regarding possible child sex abuse material connected with local IP addresses.
Further investigation led to police applying for and obtaining a residential search warrant for electronic devices at an apartment in the 300 block of Wagner Avenue.
On June 9, police executed the search warrant, leading to the arrest of Rodriguez.
Rodriguez's bond was set at $100,000.
He's currently being held in the Elkhart County Jail.
