ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Clinic's main campus is set to reopen to patients next week, but it is still unknown where the source of the gasoline vapor that was seeping in through the basement was coming from.
The clinic shut their doors in late Jan. to deal with this issue.
Today, Chief Operating Officer Sara Koziel posted a video to Facebook, making note of the goof air quality they have had the past few weeks after installing a vapor intrusion mitigation system.
Koziel stated soil and ground water samples showed most of the vapor was coming from a "source to the north", running down through the groundwater under the clinic's main building.
Koziel did note that this did not impact the building water supply.
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management is working to track down the source of the vapor.
Elkhart Clinic's main campus is set to officially reopen at 7 a.m. on March 17.
