East Bank Trail repairs beginning on Monday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The City of South Bend Public Works Department issued repairs to begin on the East Bank Trail over the Leeper Avenue bridge.

These repairs will begin on Monday, Sept. 30, and will include replacing the bridge decking with concrete and new fencing.

The trail will be closed during the repair process with detour routes in place. Leeper Avenue from North Shore Drive to Napoleon Street will be closed till repairs are complete, and motorist can detour down Niles Avenue.

Completion date is anticipated for mid-November, weather permitting.
