Drunk driver strikes two vehicles before fleeing scene

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Goshen Police were called to the 900 block of W Plymouth Avenue around 6 p.m. on Monday for a possibly drunk driver but, as they were enroute to the scene, witnesses say the driver stuck two vehicles and fled the scene.

The police caught up with the suspect who was later identified as 38-year-old Jorge Perez Rojas of Ligonier.

"Rojas failed standardized field sobriety tests and submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result of .210," authorities said. "Perez submitted to a blood draw, the results of which are pending. Perez was found to be in possession of a schedule IV substance without a valid prescription. Perez was taken to the Elkhart County Jail."
