Driver suffers medical issue, hits utility pole, cited for driving with suspended license

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to U.S. 20 and C.R. 27 for a single-vehicle crash Monday around 4:48 p.m.

The report states a 2016 Hyundai Accent, driven by 64-year-old Jordan Allen of Middlebury, was traveling east on U.S. 20.

Allen is believed to have suffered a medical issue which caused him to run off the north side of U.S. 20, west of U.S. 27, and collided with a utility pole.

The Accent rolled several times before stopping upright in a ditch.

Allen was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of his injuries and cited for Driving While Suspended-Prior.
