Suspect arrested, charged in Benton Harbor shooting death of 21-year-old

Berrien County Jail: Alonzo Woodley BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The Berrien County Prosecutor's Office announced a suspect is in custody and facing charges in the February death of 21-year-old Damarius Porter.
The suspect, Alonzo Woodley, is charged with Open Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Open Murder, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, and three counts of Felony Firearm.
Woodley has been waived into adult court for these charges.
His bond is set at $500,000.
On the morning of Feb. 1, officers with the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety responded to reports of shots-fired in 600 block of Columbus Avenue.
Upon arrival, police found Porter suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
Porter was taken to Corewell Health in St. Joseph where he later died from his injuries.
Porter's autopsy found Porter's cause of death to be fatal injuries from gunfire.
