Driver airlifted to hospital following single-vehicle crash

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- The Marshall County Sheriff's Department reports deputies responded to a call for an automated crash detection around Lincoln Highway and Hawthorn Road on Sunday around 9:34 a.m.
County dispatch said they were able to get hold of someone but received no response.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene to find a 1999 Toyota 4-Runner on the south side of the road about a half mile west of Hawthorn Road.
The driver, a 34-year-old Goshen man, had complaints of back pain and was airlifted to the hospital.
Deputies on scene determined the 4-Runner was traveling west on Lincoln Highway when for an unknown reason the driver left the north side of the roadway before crossing both lanes of traffic and crashing into a set of trees.
