UPDATE: Power restored in downtown Goshen Thursday afternoon following blown transformer

UPDATE: As of 2:02 p.m., the City of Goshen announced power has been restored to downtown.
Officials say NIPSCO has repaired the transformer, restoring traffic signals throughout downtown.
GOSHEN, Ind. -- The City of Goshen is reporting a power transformer was blown shortly before noon on Thursday in the alley along Washington Street, between Main and Fifth Streets.
"City crews have secured the area, but much of Downtown Goshen remains without power. Several traffic signals are also out. Please use caution at affected intersections," the city said in a social media post.
"We ask residents to avoid the Downtown Goshen area while NIPSCO crews work to restore service. Stay tuned to the City’s social media for further updates."
