Dog killed in late night Elkhart fire

ELKHART, Ind. — A family's dog was killed when flames ripped through the family's home late Tuesday night.
According to fire officials, the fire started around 9:45 p.m. at a two-story home on Middlebury Street in Elkhart.
When crews got to the scene, they say the fire and heavy smoke poured out of the house.
Firefighters extinguished the flames around 10:30 p.m.
Crews managed to rescue two other family pets.
