CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. -- The jury in the trial of Richard Allen rendered a guilty verdict on Monday. ABC57's Annie Kate remained in town Tuesday to get a pulse on the community's reaction to the trial coming to a close.
Many locals and business owners chose not to speak on the record with the media, but said they are relieved the trial is over so they can move on from the horrific 2017 crime.
Still, the community will continue to honor the victims, 13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old Libby German. As the jury deliberated, surrounding businesses put Abby and Libby’s names on their storefront windows. Blue and purple ribbons, the girls’ favorite colors, hung on all the lamp posts in the city square.
One way the community is honoring Abby Williams and Liberty German is with the Abby and Libby Memorial Park in Delphi. To learn more or to donate, visit.
