Crews working non-stop to restore power

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Crews have been working non-stop trying to restore power after Sunday's storms.

Crews were called out around 4 p.m. Sunday and were still working as of 7 a.m. Monday.

Their entire staff was working to clean-up the aftermath.

Their plan was to restore power to as many residents as possible before daybreak.

Workers asked ABC 57 to pass along a few safety tips.

  • They warn you cannot see downed power lines when driving so use caution.

  • Do not go near or drive over a downed line.

  • Lastly even if you suspect a power line to be out, treat it as live, and stay away.
