Court Appointed Special Advocates needed in St. Joesph County

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Currently, there are over 200 children on the waiting list for Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA volunteers, in St. Joseph County, Indiana.

CASA volunteers assist with all Child in Need of Service cases, which are abuse and neglect cases.

Part of a volunteer's role is advocating for the children and receiving full-party status when involved with a child's case. 

Volunteers for this position are required to be at least 21 years old, live locally, and be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

CASA volunteers will undergo 35 hours of training curated by a variety of professionals within the program.
