Concord Schools: Social media threat not credible, student suspended

The Concord Community Schools Police Department has determined a threat posted to social media Wednesday morning about Concord Intermediate School was not a credible threat.

School administrators discovered the threat of a potentially violent incident in a social media post from a student's private account.

Once the threat was discovered, the district's police department began an investigation. School district officials were also notified of the alleged threat and safety protocols were followed.

Police identified the student responsible for the post and determined the threat was not credible. The student has been suspended, according to the district.

The case has been forwarded to the Elkhart County Prosecutor's Office.

The district will not release the student's name.
