ELKHART, Ind. -- Students at Concord East Side Elementary released a weather balloon on Friday.
Fourth graders Cayden Abner, Jude Hauser and Evan Yoder all participated in the balloon launch and were excited to learn about teamwork.
The goal of the project-based learning was for students to plan experiments and track the balloon over its flight.
Some of the experiments included Jell-O and marshmallows to see how they react to lower air pressure.
Concord Ox Bow’s previous weather balloon landed in a Canadian lake.
Friday's balloon was last spotted over Lake Erie.
A GPS attached to the balloon allowed the students to track it down when it eventually pops.
