ELKHART, Ind. -- The Humane Society of Elkhart is hosting the event, "Community Boost", on Saturday, June 15, from noon to 3 p.m., at Bethany Missionary Church in Elkhart.

Organizers want to help keep your pets safe all year long.

Community members are invited to bring their pets so the Humane Society of Elkhart County can provide them with free vaccines and microchips.

Organizers add having or receiving a microchip is required to receive the vaccines.

Vaccines offered are as follows:

  • Dog DAPPv Vaccine: For canine distemper, adenovirus, a hepatitis virus, parvovirus, and parainfluenza, a flu virus.
  • Cat HCP Vaccine: Protects cats against several common and potentially severe feline diseases, like feline viral rhinotracheitis, a highly contagious upper respiratory infection in cats caused by the feline herpesvirus.
  • Rabies Vaccine

Organizers say the event first-come, first-served.

The church is located at 56295 C.R. 1 in Elkhart.

You can find more details and updates on the official Facebook event page.
