SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Clay Fire held their annual Mustache Bash once again this evening, continuing the tradition of shaving off their facial hair and seeing who can grow them back the fastest.
The money raised during this event goes towards Great Lakes Burn Camp for Kids, a nonprofit organization that provides healing experiences for burned or injured children.
"So, back in 2007 a group of firefighters decided that in the month of February or in the winter months, there wasn't a whole lot going on or a whole lot to do, and it's a good, good way to get everybody together and raise money for a good cause. So ever since that, it's just gotten bigger and bigger, to the point where we just tried to raise the most money for the burn camp," stated Firefighter for Clay Fire Jeromy Gerndt.
Tonight was the "Shave-in" and they will come back together in about a month to see who grew back the longest stache.
