PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- For the past five years, Dustin’s Place has been on a mission to make sure no child walks through the loss of a loved one alone.
At Thursday’s ‘5-year Friendiversary’, Dustin’s Place reflected on the growth the group has seen over the past half-decade.
“At the end of year one we had served 58 individuals. So far this year we have served 478 individuals in 2024 alone,” said Viki Brown, the Executive Director and Co-founder of Dustin’s Place.
They also announced the organization was recently gifted a bigger space by LifePlex gym, where Dustin’s Place held a camp over the summer.
Brown explained they will use that space to build a new center, where she says they plan to have more healing resources like physical expression rooms, art expression rooms and a dining room.
“For families to come and eat dinner together so that they can experience grief as a whole family unit and so we are so excited to bring that to this community, to kickoff that campaign and to watch our community surround us,” said Brown.
