STURGIS, Mich. -- The Sturgis Department of Public Safety reports on Tuesday around 6:29 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Susan Avenue regarding a disorderly man armed with a chainsaw attempting to gain access to a residence.

The report states as officers were arriving, the suspect got into a vehicle and left.

Officers say they were able to stop the vehicle, but the suspect resisted arrest and had to be removed from the vehicle.

The man was arrested on several felony charges along with Operating a Motor Vehicle while Intoxicated.

He was taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
