Cassopolis joins in National John Lewis Day of Action July 17

Good Trouble Lives On

CASSOPLIS, Mich. --  Community members in Cassopolis are joining Americans nationwide in a day of protest on July 17, to honor the legacy of Former Congressman and Civil Right Activist John Lewis. 

Organizers say the event is a nationwide day of peaceful protest, non violent action inspired by John Lewis action to cause " Good Trouble".

The event takes place on the 5th anniversary of his death and participants will gather to demand an end to what they say are attacks on our freedom to vote, protest and organize. The are also protesting against efforts to roll back rights and slashing vital public programs. 

Cassopolis is not only city participating in this national day of action, many cities across Michiana are also participating in this National Day of Action including South Bend, St. Joe Michigan and LaGrange.
