BREAKING: Officer-involved shooting reported in South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- According to a live interview with Indiana State Police, the police were called to the location for a wellness check on a female individual. The female was located, but during the ensuing interaction, the female was shot by a South Bend police officer and succumbed to her injuries.

South Bend Police Department officials confirm it happened at the Phillips 66 gas station off Portage Avenue. Dispatchers tell us the call came in at 3:12 p.m. Multiple agencies were on the scene, including SBPD, the St. Joseph County Police Department, and the Indiana State Police.
