South Bend Community Police Review Board met Thursday night
ELKHART, Ind. -- Turkey day arrives early in Goshen as The Boys and Girls Clubs of Elkhart County join Blue Door Society Members for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
The event, symbolic of the giving spirit, both celebrates and establishes bonds between the community and its supporters.
Tonight's guests included more than 300 kids, all of them getting an authentic Thanksgiving meal, complete with pumpkin pie, green beans, turkey, mash potatoes, and gravy.
"We're really excited to offer this because a lot of our kids might not have a traditional Thanksgiving meal at home, so we're able to bring in volunteers and our team members and our staff that are able to sit down and have a traditional Thanksgiving meal with our kids," stated Chief Advancement Officer for the Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart County Matt Fisher.
Fisher states they have 4,000 members across the county, partnering with Grace Community Church to help with volunteers.
