Both drivers injured in two-vehicle crash Saturday

ABC 57

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the intersection of S.R. 19 and U.S. 20 around 5 p.m. Saturday for a two-vehicle crash.

The report states a 2020 Ford Escape, driven by a 58-year-old Elkhart man, was traveling north on S.R. 19 south of U.S. 20.

Authorities say either the 2019 Chevy Equinox, driven by a 64-year-old Elkhart man, or the Escape failed to yield the right of way.

The Escape turned in front of the Equinox, leading to the crash.

Both drivers told deputies they had the green light, although no witnesses were found.

Both drivers had complaints of neck pain and were taken to Elkhart General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
