Ball State University set to host screening of 'Garfield: The Movie' with Garfield creator Jim Davis

MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State University's College of Fine Arts is set to host alumnus Jim Davis, the creator of iconic comic strip Garfield, for a special screening of 'Garfield: The Movie'.

The event will be free and open to the public and will be held in Pruis Hall at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 13.

Following the screening, Davis, will participate in a Q&A session where he will share insights into his journey as a cartoonist, the inspiration behind Garfield, and the character's impact on pop culture. 

“We’re pleased to welcome Jim Davis back to Ball State for this special event,” said Dean of the College of Fine Arts Dr. Seth Beckham. “It’s a great opportunity for our students and community to connect with a respected graduate who has made a lasting mark in his field. We look forward to celebrating his achievements and the inspiration he brings to our campus.”

Doors for the screening are set to open at 6 p.m.
