BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – Two people were arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a cell phone store Monday afternoon.
Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety (BHDPS) officers responded to a call regarding an armed robbery at 957 Pipestone Street at approximately 1:00 p.m.
Officials say a female and male entered the store, approaching the clerk and demanding money from the register with a weapon in view.
The male and female fled the store with an undetermined amount of money.
Store surveillance footage aided officers in apprehending two people believed to be involved in the robbery.
A 17-year-old female and a 37-year-old male were taken into custody within hours, police say.
Officers were unable to locate the weapon allegedly involved in the robbery.
The subjects were booked at the Berrien County Jail.
The names of the accused are being withheld pending arraignment.
Michigan State Police Major Crimes Unit assisted the BHDPS in the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Benton Harbor tipline at 269-927-0293 or Crime Stoppers at 1800-342-STOP.
