Applications open for Rebuilding Together St. Joseph County's home repair program

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Local non-profit, Rebuilding Together St. Joseph County announced applications are open to homeowners interested in getting home repairs or rehabilitation at no cost.

Officials say the 2025 program will focus on the Keller Park and Marquette Park Neighborhoods and priority will be given to elderly 60 and over, disabled, and veteran homeowners.

Officials say repairs can be minor, such as small carpentry jobs and painting walls, to major skilled tasks, like roofing work and updating electrical and plumbing systems.

For your home to qualify for repair assistance through Rebuilding Together, it must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • The home must be located within the year’s targeted project area.
  • The home must be a single-family, owner-occupied unit (rental homes are not eligible) and be the applicant’s primary residence.
  • The total income of all household members must fall within set federal limits.
  • The home must be insurable under a homeowner’s policy.
  • The home must have current property taxes.

Applications are open through Nov. 15.
