Air Force official acquitted of assault

ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Air Force Lieutenant Colonel that headed up the sexual assault response team and then made headlines when he was accused of assault and battery has been acquitted.

Jeff Krusinski's only words after his acquittal in an Arlington court room were that he loves his children.

Krusinski was accused of assaulting a 23-year-old outside a bar in May.

His defense attorney praised the jury who acquitted him.

"I think they very carefully applied the laws and the rules as the judge explained them and I think the system worked.  And we are very glad that it did," said Defense Attorney Barry Coburn.

Krusinski was assigned to another position after he was arrested and Air Force officials had said that they would wait until the legal proceedings were over to take any action.
