85-year-old hospitalized after driver fails to yield Monday morning in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle crash around 8:37 a.m. on Wednesday morning at the intersection of Pokagon Highway and Daily Road.

The investigation shows that 24-year-old South Bend resident Dylan Vantubberger failed to yield the right-of-way to a vehicle traveling west on Pokagon Highway.

The vehicle traveling west was driven by a 28-year-old Cassopolis resident who was carrying an 85-year-old passenger who was taken to St. Joe Medical for injuries sustained in this crash.

Authorities say seatbelts were worn at the time of the crash, and alcohol or drugs are not believed to be a factor.
