57 Pep Talks: Notre Dame women's basketball Coach Muffet McGraw
ABC57 Saturday Kickoff host Allison Hayes is sharing messages of hope from those with ties to Michiana who are still finding ways to spread positivity despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Notre Dame women's basketball Head Coach Muffet McGraw has been helping out by organizing a food drive with her team for the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.
Coach McGraw offered these words of encouragement.
“We’ve been through tough times before. 9/11 was scary but we got through it and we will get through this. This is a time to lean on each other. This is a time to look out for each other and yes, even during these challenging moments, it’s a time to be grateful for what we have. This is your opportunity to rise to the occasion. I know you’re probably a little scared and a little unsure about what the future holds, but like I tell my team, don’t look ahead. Let’s take this one day at a time. We’re all on the same team now and this team needs you. It’s time for you to step up and meet this challenge head on. You have the tools you need to get through this. You are determined, you are resilient and you are ready for this moment. Good things are in store for us. And remember, you are not alone, we are all in this together. And together is the only way we will win it, McGraw said. “Some people thrive under pressure and there is gonna be pressure. We need you to be strong right now, so that when we look back on this moment, we can be proud of how we acted and who we are. As Hoosiers, as Midwesterners and as Americans. I’m counting on you.”
