ABC57 Saturday Kickoff host Allison Hayes is sharing messages of hope from community members across Michiana who are still finding ways to spread positivity despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Notre Dame men’s basketball Coach Mike Brey is the winningest men’s basketball coach in the university’s history.
Brey was hired in July of 200 and he’s about to begin his 20th season with the Irish.
With over 500 career wins, 12 NCAA Tournament appearances, three sweet 16’s, two Elite 8’s, and the 2015 ACC championship, Brey knows how to motivate his team.
He offered these words of encouragement.
“Hey Allison, Mike Brey here at Notre Dame, checking in with everybody and just want to let them know to stay safe, stay healthy. Just like a team during the season, you go through a losing streak, you have a tough loss. We talk about it being put on the mat. You get put on the mat. Well, we’re gonna come off the mat. We know how to come off the mat. So, pace yourself, this is a marathon, not a sprint. And stay healthy. Go Irish.”
