UPDATE: 40-year-old Plymouth man faces 13 charges for Hamlet home invasion
HAMLET, Ind. -- UPDATE: The Starke County Sheriff's Office reports, via Facebook, they, along with and Hamlet Police Department, worked with the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office to secure 13 charges against Hamlet home invasion suspect David Campbell.
Campbell is charged with two counts of Level 1 Felony Burglary with serious bodily injury to a dwelling, two counts of Level 2 Felony Burglary with serious bodily injury, two counts of Level 3 Felony Burglary with serious bodily injury, two counts of Level 3 Felony Burglary resulting in bodily injury, two counts of Level 3 Felony Aggravated Battery when the assault poses a substantial risk of death, Level 4 Felony Burglary of a dwelling, two counts of Level 5 Felony Battery resulting in serious bodily injury, and two misdemeanor counts of battery resulting in bodily injury.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Hamlet Police Department reports an arrest has been made after a home invasion occurred in the 600 block of Starke Street in Hamlet on August 3.
Police say two residents were taken to the hospital for injuries resulting from the home invasion.
As a part of the investigation, on Monday around 6:30 p.m., officers with HPD, the Plymouth Police Department, and Starke County Sheriff's Department executed a search warrant at the Red Rock Inn in Plymouth.
Upon arrival, police identified the suspect as 40-year-old David Campbell, of Plymouth, and detained him in connection with the home invasion.
Campbell is currently incarcerated at the Starke County Jail pending formal charges being filed by the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.
