23-year-old man dies in Fulton County crash

FULTON COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana State Police reports on Tuesday, July 2, just after 4 p.m., they along with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash near 4960 North Old U.S. 31 in Rochester.

Authorities say the preliminary crash investigation indicates 23-year-old Quinton Sayger, of Rochester, was driving a 1998 Buick LeSabre heading south on Old U.S. 31.

The report then states Sayger traveled left of center, for an unknown reason, when a 2011 Dodge Avenger, driven by 37-year-old Kenneth Hendricks of Plymouth, was traveling north on Old U.S. 31 and crashed into him.

Both vehicles then came to a rest.

Sayger was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

Hendricks was taken to a local hospital via helicopter for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team is assisting with the investigation.

Currently, authorities say neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected of contributing to the crash.

Authorities add the information above is preliminary and the investigation is ongoing.

Sayger's family has been notified.
