WALKERTON, Ind. -- The Zac Mago Foundation hosted another youth heart screening on Monday at John Glenn High School.
Students who signed up early had the opportunity to receive mobile cardiac screenings to detect and abnormalities and prevent student cardiac arrests in teens.
Zac Mago passed away in July 2018 of sudden cardiac arrest.
He was just 17 years old.
“I wanted to do it because Zac was one of my close friends and I also wanted to make sure I had a healthy heart and stuff so I wouldn’t have to deal with any heart problems myself,” Jacob Borton, a John Glenn Student said.
Mago’s family started the foundation to provide education and preventative heart screenings to stop sudden cardiac arrest.
Monday’s event was the second that the foundation has hosted.
Screenings will continue on May 21 and 22 at John Glenn High School.
