Woman arrested for public nudity, kicking officer in the groin
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- South Bend police officers responded to a call about a woman walking around naked in the 1500 block of Northside Boulevard on July 14, and after struggling with police, 39-year-old Tia Wiley was arrested and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
When officers arrived on the scene, Wiley had sandals, shorts, and a t-shirt on. They attempted to speak with her, but Wiley refused to stop walking. That is when two officers attempted to detain Wiley, but she resisted and kicked a male officer in the groin.
She was arrested and taken to the county jail.
The person who originally made the call to police told officers that she was driving east with her husband when she saw Wiley running down the street with no shirt or shoes on.
She stopped to ask Wiley if she needed help, and Wiley asked for a ride home. While they did not feel comfortable giving her a ride, the caller gave Wiley sandals and a t-shirt to put on before making the call to police.
"The complainant said that they gave Wiley the clothing and she walked off, talking to herself," authorities said.
She was charged with Public Nudity and Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury.
