ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast
Sunday, February 22nd, 2025
The Winter Weather Advisory has been extended to the following counties: Elkhart (Until 1AM Monday), Starke and Marshall (Until 1PM Monday). The extension is due to the potential of intense lake effect snow bands overnight through Monday, as winds become more breezy. For those under the advisory, an additional 2-5 inches is possible, with some local areas potentially seeing higher amounts.
The position/orientation of bands overnight is somewhat uncertain—bands could shift and have a north-south orientation, or they could have a northwest-southeast position. Regardless, the Monday morning commute will be impacted, especially for counties in the advisory area. Other counties will still likely experience slick conditions also out the door. Expect delays Monday morning.
Snow showers begin to taper off Monday afternoon. Temperatures gradually rise by midweek, accompanied by another round of precipitation—likely snow showers. Highs are expected to reach the 40s by the weekend.
Tonight: Heavier Lake Effect snow. Low 22.
Monday: AM L.E snow, clearing through afternoon. High 27.
Tuesday: Cloudy, breezy. High 36.
Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, PM snow chances. High 39.
