What Lurks on Lexington offers spooky fun for all ages
SOUTH BEND, Ind-- This Halloween you may be asking "What Lurks on Lexington?" The residential haunt started five years ago as a fun Halloween activity families could do during the pandemic.
The haunt at 55407 Lexington Ave. is led by creator Jay Yarbrough. Completely volunteer based, this experience grows each year, offering new twists and turns and scares for everyone. This is a hands-on haunt, so if you visit, be prepared for scares every turn you take!
The haunt takes months of preparation, designing and building. Yarbrough says that the haunt is only open two days out of the year, Halloween and the night after, all for a good cause. "We're also a charity drive for South bends pet refuge, which is a non-kill shelter," Yarbough explains. "They will be on site as well, and will be taking donations on site, as far as dog food, cat food, litter, towels, blankets, toys, things of that nature."
The haunt is free to go through, but donations are welcome. There are also games you can pay to play and free candy provided at the event. The haunt will start at 7 p.m. and go until around 10:30 p.m. both nights.
