UPDATE: One confirmed dead in Wednesday evening crash

UPDATE:  The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that Kaiden Ruff, a 20-year-old North Webster man, was killed in a three-vehicle accident in Elkhart County Wednesday night.

Ruff was driving a Yamaha FZ6 motorcycle when police say he disregarded a red light at the intersection of S.R. 119 and C.R. 17 causing a driver in a Chevrolet Traverse to strike the right side of the vehicle, resulting in the driver of the motorcycle being thrown from the bike.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motorcycle slid through the intersection and struck a Dodge Avenger, leaving no one in that vehicle injured.

The driver of the Traverse was sent to the Goshen General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries 

ORIGINIAL: ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office says the call came in at 4:17 p.m. with reports of a crash involving at least two vehicles on C.R. 17, near S.R. 119 (also known as W. Plymouth Avenue).

Authorities say the scene is still active and that C.R. 17 is closed from C.R. 28 to C.R. 38. Also. S.R. 119 is closed from C.R. 17 to Old C.R. 17.

No one has been sent to the hospital.
