Current future of Traps Stars Outlet dispensary is at a standstill

NEW BUFFALO, Mich. -- Today, New Buffalo Township leaders met to discuss the future of Trap Stars Outlet dispensary.

It all stems from an appeal made back in August to revoke their right to legally sell marijuana in Michigan.

During the hearing, community members voiced their concerns over the dispensary's refusal to abide by Michigan state rules.

Including accusations, they stayed open after hours on at least two separate occasions, sold well above the legal product limit to an undercover deputy, and more.

After only a half-hour meeting, the New Buffalo Zoning Board came to a standstill.

“We just as a board, we felt like we didn't have the right to change anything on that,” Said Chair of Zoning Board of Appeals of New Buffalo Township, Rick Novacek, “It just let the due process work out through the circuit courts.”

The New Buffalo Zoning Board of Appeals will reconvene on November 10th to further discuss if Trap Stars can continue business.

Today, Trap Stars is still operating as if nothing has happened.

When asked, a Trap Stars representative refused to comment.

Until then, it will remain operating under normal hours.
