Snow returns Thursday PM, milder weather soon
Our warmest and wettest day of the year so far will be today. Incoming low pressure from the southern Plains ushers in a temperature spike producing highs near 60 degrees in our area, then subsequently drives in afternoon showers starting around 3-4 PM EST in the southwestern Michiana area. After the first round of showers this evening, a lull kicks in as the sun goes down. The warm front passes over our area tonight as the cold front approaches, bringing heavy and soaking rain with thunderstorms possible during the overnight hours. The rain ends early Friday morning before most wake up, and the last day of the week is quiet but damp and cloudy. Saturday, rain and snow return alongside a major cooldown in the second half of the day. Lake effect snow takes over Saturday night into Sunday.
Today: PM Showers. High 58.
Tonight: Rain. Low 44.
Friday: Mostly cloudy. High 50.
Saturday: Rain/snow. High 38.
